Preach, sister. This is so good! Well done.

Great post, Caryn! As someone who works in a school, attends SEL workshops and have seen how SEL and CRT are used--and not used--in my own school, I'm particularly enjoying (not!) the way people who can't even define those acronyms seem to know all the terrible things that are happening in schools because of SEL and CRT. . . . Thank you for putting into words what I've been thinking, and may you have a blessed Holy Week!

Caryn, This is SO GOOD. I really appreciate the connection you make between the rejection of "CRT" and "SEL" because it might make white children feel bad, and the evangelical insistence that we all are inherently so sinful that Jesus died for us (talk about guilt!). Our local school board is all alt-right, with disastrous consequences for our district. Hoping that our election, in May, will change this trend that (at least here) has national connections--and national money from conservation organizations. Some days I despair, but your own thoughts give me hope. Thank you for connecting the dots!
